This compensation mod involves cutting one of the non-insulated axleboxes out of the chassis
and soldering it to a length of thin phosphor-bronze strip like the piece supplied with the kit (or
thin phosphor-bronze wire).  I cut my axle box out using a piercing saw on my already complete
chassis.  Attach the other end of the phosphor-bronze strip to the inside of the frame close to
the other wheelset with solder and position the axlebox where it was before you cut it out but
now sprung 1mm down.  Adjust the spring so the axlebox moves freely.  Make sure the
attachment point to the frame does not rub on the other wheelset.  Look carefully at the
photos. This is the best scheme I can envisage for this very small loco with such limited space.
Choose the non-insulated wheelset that has its belt and pulley the furthest away from the
non-insulated side.  This minimises forces on the phosphor-bronze.  Send me a P&P/S&H
charge with a note if you need a suitable piece of phosphor-bronze strip.
