This is a 6mm diameter x 10mm long 3 pole coreless DC motor
nominally rated at 6V but suitable for running at voltages up to 12V
DC with the resistor provided. It may be used as a drive motor from Z,
Nn3 etc through 009/HOe/HOn30 to standard gauge OO/HO where
P4 and P87 modellers have already been using early samples of the
motor to build prototypical axle mounted traction drives. Also here. It
should however be stressed that this is a very small motor with limited
torque which cannot be used indiscriminately as a drive motor in
these scales. The motor may also be used to power various vehicle
or layout based accessories. The motor’s shaft is 0.8mm diameter
which is easily adapted to 1.5mm using an optional shaft adapter.
Power is applied via 30mm long colour-coded multi-strand lead wires.
This motor is used in my 20HP WD Simplex loco kit.
6 volt rated 6mm x 10mm Micro Motor
with dropper resistor (runs on 12Vdc)
Note this drawing is around 2.5 times bigger than actual size. Rated unloaded speed at 6V 35,000rpm
