Chassis Build/'Get You Running' Service I offer a chassis build/ 'get you running' chassis service. This is a fixed price deal which incorporates the option to have the chassis built before delivery or to return the (partly) completed kit to me for the 'get you running' version. This includes replacement of parts as may be necessary but I will make no additional charge so long as all the parts are returned (in whatever state) and the kit has not been wilfully destroyed. I must also exclude chassis that have been assembled using glue rather than solder as instructed as its virtually impossible to re-work glued assemblies. The price for this service is £45 payable when you purchase the kit or return it for ‘get you running’. I am hoping that this approach to offering a build service will encourage everyone to ‘have a go’ with no penalty between up front build and ‘get you running’ service. Please see the 'Online Shop' to order this service. This service is for the non-compensated version build only, so if you doubt your ability to build the compensated version please try the non-compensated version first! Lack of time means I cannot take on the build of numerous compensated chassis. Please see the instructions (link above) for details of this option. The other condition I must place on this service is that I cannot promise a timescale but will do my best to complete all work of this type as soon as possible. This will vary from a week to 'several' weeks; please be patient!
Add-On Cab This model is based on the cab fitted to 'The Major' whilst he was No 7 at Betchworth lime pits. It is available either as a complete kit or just the cab etch as an add-on for the original open cab kit. Click here to view the instructions for the add-on cab.

This is a scale model of 'The Major' which is in preservation at the Amberley Industrial Museum in West Sussex, UK. The loco in preservation can be seen in the prototype photos below which are provided to assist detailing and painting. The kit is includes the UK importers plates and 'The Major' name and number plates, and also optional O&K maker's plates which facilitate the modelling of locos supplied by O&K to other countries. This type of loco is to be found widely throughout Europe but especially in Germany and its neighbours. It is a very small industrial locos and one of the smallest operating model locomotives available in 4mm scale, possibly the smallest. The chassis makes use of a friction drive in addition to the more conventional worm drives and has a high reduction ratio - over 75:1 - from motor to wheels. The loco runs very quietly and smoothly and is perfectly happy on various types of track including PECO (tm) and other standard commercial offerings, even Egger.
