These injection moulded HOn30 vee tippers were originally designed for a well known former Japanese narrow gauge manufacturer. The kit is highly detailed and although almost identical in overall size has a slightly smaller Vee skip when compared with my W. G. Allen tipper. However like that kit it is equally applicable to 009, HOn30 and HOe because of the range of different sizes in which the original was produced. Slightly unusually the wheels are part of the sprue and must be mounted on the metal axles provided. The axles are very nicely made, blackened and stepped to set the gauge. The wheel mouldings and axles go together well and make smoothly running wheelsets. The kits come with a translation of the original Japanese instructions (shown to right, click to enlarge) and supporting English notes. Note that the axle length is 14mm, and the wheel size 4.3mm. With care my standard wheelsets could be used as alternatives although they are larger in diameter and slightly short in axle length. If you choose to use my standard wheelsets you will need to assemble the frames slightly closer together than as supplied in the kit. Note that Graham Farish/Dundas/Romford axle length is 15mm and cannot be used with this kit.
