This kit contains all the chassis components of the continental
vee tipper, everything in that kit in fact except for the skip body.
The kit features a standard 'O&K' type continental frame with fully
modelled brake gear and column. It can be used as the basis
for a range of industrial rolling stock variants, please see the
prototype pics page for some ideas.
Every effort has been made to keep the centre of gravity low and within the wheel base to avoid the truck
being unstable. To this end the brake platform is a resin casting and the brake column a brass etch. The
chassis is dsigned to fit Greenwich coupler loops (available seperately). Although there appears to be a
considerable overhang at the end with the brake platform this is not a problem from the point of view of tight
radiuses, I find a train including this item will negotiate a 6" radius easily when pulled or shunted (pushed).
